Earle and Coffin are on a great trajectory with their win at this year’s Canadian Folk Music Awards. They took home the honour of being named Young Performers of the Year, for their album “Nick Earle & Joe Coffin Live at The Citadel House” in Toronto, on December 3, 2016 .
They add to their list of accomplishments a new nomination for East Coast Music Awards 2017 for the same album.
Earle and Coffin recorded their award winning album before an appreciative crowd at the Citadel House on a warm August evening in picturesque Lewisporte, NL. Authentic blues standards with a bit of Earle and Coffin finesse is the best way to describe this dynamic live album.
Nick Earle and Joe Coffin are emerging blues artists from St. John’s, NL who have released their debut album “Nick Earle and Joe Coffin Live at The Citadel House”, earning them the 2016 Canadian Folk Music Award for Young Performer of the Year as well as nominations from ECMA and Music NL for Jazz/Blues Recording of the Year. Adopting a distinctive style which is well beyond their years, they draw inspiration from blues greats such as Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters. Rich soulful vocals and exceptional guitar playing are just two of the descriptions that come to mind when watching these two execute their skills. Earle and Coffin have already performed with many of Newfoundland’s top roots and blues musicians and have learned to demonstrate the utmost professionalism and style.
