Rachel Troke is a natural born performer. This young singer/songwriter from Twillingate, Newfoundland has been singing and playing for most of her life. Inspired by feedback she received from a recording project in elementary school, Rachel realized her passion for music and quickly mastered her main instrument, the piano. Since then she has also added the ukulele to her expanding repertoire. Rachel has been showing her prowess at various local stages, festivals, and open mics for the past few years, she has performed at the Kiwanis Music Festival where she has received numerous performance awards, the Twillingate Fish, Fun and Folk Festival, the Unscripted Festival and the Citadel House Open Stage to name just a few. Rachel prides herself by giving back, she volunteers and performs regularly at school, community and church related functions and has a very strong sense of compassion and community spirit about her.
Rachel is a fresh face in the industry and has a unique and powerful voice to share her passion for music. Her seemingly effortless ability to captivate the audience and her relaxed stage presence are rare qualities for such a young performer. Her influences span across soft rock, pop and even a little country, she has the ability to take a song and make it her own and delivers heartwarming energy at every performance. Rachel strives to make her audience feel what she is singing, when asked about her music she quotes, “I want them to feel my emotion when I sing”. Rachel comes at each song with a deep sense of herself.
In February 2017, Rachel signed a multi-year recording contract with Citadel House Records in Lewisporte, Newfoundland with producer Dean Stairs. Stairs, who already has a number of young, up and coming artists signed on with him, sees the great potential for this multi-faceted performer. Rachel has been busy developing her song writing skills, sharing her own stories and experiences of life, love and feeling and has just released her debut EP, Blossom.
