Open Stage for the UnderAge contributes greatly to the Janeway
posted on October 28, 2016
We have had a tremendous display of talent at the Open Stage for the UnderAge since it began early this year. Admission to these concerts is by donation to the Citadel House charity of choice, Gideon’s Helping Hands. So far, a sum nearing $1000 has been collected for the Gideon’s Helping Hands charity for the Janeway.
This fund is primarily used to assist families on J4 Medicine, a floor on the Janeway that the Stairs’ family is acutely familiar with. Gideon Stairs, the ninth child of Dean and Stevie, fought a brave battle with Cancer for a year and a half, and spent a good deal of time on this floor of the Janeway. The families that receive care there, are from all walks of life and have various levels of need. Staff administer this gift to those needing particular help at the time it is received. This year, we at the Citadel House hope to present the check from the Gideon’s Helping Hands Charity in December, just after the annual auction on December 10.
The next Open Stage for the UnderAge will take place on Friday, November 18, 2016. The youth from Central Newfoundland have some amazing talent! Come enjoy an evening of fine music for a good cause!
