Missing Marshville

My living there was twenty nine years deep
My childhood laughter echoed up and down her streets
I try to tell myself in my mind. I got ahead by leaving her behind
but I'm not listening to a single word I say
'cause I'm missing Marshville, I miss knowing what's around the bend
and I left my heart there, and though I try and try to forget
I'm missing Marshville again
My being here's a bitter pill to taste
but I ran out of future back there in that place
I'm staring out into the city lights, can't get accustomed to the starless nights
a pricetag's hanging on everything you gain and...
'cause I'm missing Marshville, I miss knowing what's around the bend
and I left my heart there, and though I try and try to forget
I'm missing Marshville again.
I've never seen so many faces, or been so alone
I've been living here for years now but still can't call this home
My being here's a bitter pill to taste
but I ran out of future back there in that place
I got a job and I bought a brand new ride
look out my door there ain't a wolf in sight
but a pricetag's hanging on everything you gain and...
I'm missing Marshville, I miss knowing what's around the bend
and I left my heart there, and though I try and try to forget
I'm missing Marshville again
