Down This Road

Well, it's fun o'clock, we closed the shop and lay our burdens down
'cause it's Monday's pretty sister, now we're town days freedom bound
all the wage slaves are gonna blow their pays tonight
Well, there's a battleaxe in a Cadillac, they're both grey and slightly worn
there's a posted speed she didn't read and she can't hear my horn
Well, I've been dying to find some broken line tonight
'Cause there's a place down this road called the "925"
Where the newest song that the houseband plays is from 1965
Where you can kill your workday blues with shooters and a bomb
and the door swings from the darkness 'till the dawn
Well, there's roofs to patch, dog's to catch and cars to finely tune
but they've all been forgotten 'till the rise of Sunday's Moon
We've got drinks to take and rules to break tonight, yes we do
'Cause there's a place down this road called the "925"
Where the newest song that the houseband plays is from 1965
Where you can kill your workday blues with shooters and a bomb
and the door swings from the darkness 'till the dawn
