Tobirus, the three-piece rock band from Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador, is excited to announce the release of their latest single, RALPH MACHIO. Written entirely by frontman Samuel Stairs, the track marks the next chapter for the band following their debut album Be Large (2024) and signing with The Citadel House in 2025.

RALPH MACHIO channels the raw energy and influences of Weezer, Pavement, The Rolling Stones, and Beck, delivering a powerful blend of alternative rock and classic rock sensibilities. The song explores the tension and pressure of a challenging relationship, expressing feelings of claustrophobia, aggression, and the struggle to break free. Its lyrics are intentionally vague and evocative, painting a sonic picture that is both urgent and intense.

The track features Joshua Pope on drums and percussion, Jared Lake on bass and backing vocals, and Elizabeth Whitney on backing vocals. Production, recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Dean Stairs at The Citadel House.

Samuel Stairs leads the track with vocals and guitar, supported by his bandmates’ dynamic performances. The result is a song that reflects Tobirus’s growth as a band while staying true to their roots in folk-inspired melodies and their love for classic and alternative rock.

Tobirus continues to build momentum in the Newfoundland and Labrador music scene, performing live shows consistently since forming in 2023. Their second album, House Husboy, is set to release in April 2026, promising more original music that expands on the sounds and themes explored in RALPH MACHIO.
